Robin Burchfield reported to Historic City News this afternoon that St Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) recently held a Celebration Dinner at Creekside Dinery to honor staff, the boys, and volunteers at the non-profit therapeutic group home for children who have been the victims of child abuse or extreme neglect.
Recognized for over 20 years of employment were James Damiami, Janet Riley Dalton, Susan Zitsman, Schuyler Siefker, Pam Young and Rick Testasecca.
“The boys at SAYS are blessed to have the consistency of care provided by these staff members,” said Schuyler Siefker, Executive Director at St Augustine Youth Services. “The success of our program is in large part due to our dedicated staff.”
Siefker thanked each person for their dedication and service.
Each boy also received an award for his best attribute ranging from getting all A’s in school to being the best helper. Also recognized were members of the SAYS Board and Development Team.
Since 1989, SAYS has been providing its children with a safe, stable home in which to live, learn, grow and heal, both physically and emotionally. SAYS has recently moved into the new Hutson Family Campus located off of US-1 South at Dupont Center.
The next SAYS event is the 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on October 7 at Marsh Creek Country Club. Call the SAYS office at 904-829-1770 for tournament information and for more information about the SAYS program.
