Using funds from partner dues, not bed tax dollars, St Johns County Visitors and Convention Bureau, Inc., reported to Historic City News that they recently presented a check for $5,000 to support the work of Home Again St Johns.
Diane Quick, Jon Benoit, Richard Goldman, Michael Cunningham, Michael Biance, Ellen Walden, Al Deinhart, Casey Jones and David Hoak, were all present to celebrate the check presentation.
“Home Again St Johns provides services essential to improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable residents in St Johns County,” said Richard Goldman, executive director of the Visitors and Convention Bureau. “By helping more people make the transition from homelessness to healthy, productive citizens, the entire county becomes stronger economically and our standard of living improves.”
This is the third consecutive year that the Visitors and Convention Bureau has made a donation to Home Again St Johns. The “Top Chef Cook-off” event on October 10th, part of the “Flavors of Florida’s Historic Coast” month-long celebration, will also benefit Home Again St Johns.
The mission of Home Again St Johns is to promote and foster support in the community to resolve issues related to homelessness in St Johns County; compassionately and effectively. Goldman said that their effort makes our destination even more attractive to visitors and potential residents alike.
