Historic City News has been informed that a Duval County resident has been arrested, again, by St Johns County authorities, this time he is accused of aggravated stalking; a third-degree felony.
In custody is 29-year-old Andrew Warren Hahn who resides at 1006 24th Street North in Jacksonville Beach, was arrested early Tuesday morning and booked into the St Johns County detention facility at about 5:48 a.m.; where he remains, as of this afternoon, in lieu of $25,000 bond.
On September 6th, deputies responded the Ponte Vedra Beach church that Hahn had been attending — that is until he was issued a trespass warning, following a disturbing incident that occurred several years ago. Hahn was reported to be watching children from outside the window of the church building. When he refused to stay away, Hahn was issued the trespassing warning.
The 53-year-old pastor of the church now reports that Hahn contacted him again. This time, the pastor says, Hahn threatened to harm him with a chainsaw. Witnesses at the church told sheriff’s investigators that Hahn continued to harass the pastor and other staff members at the church after he was given the warning. More recently, those witnesses say, Hahn has been “very angry and volatile”.
In another incident in June of 2008, Hahn was charged with video voyeurism for using his cell phone to take photos of children while they were showering at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. He returned to the Club in April of 2010 and was arrested for trespassing.
At Hahn’s first appearance hearing, he told the court that he intends to hire private counsel and will not require the services of the public defender.
The investigation into Hahn’s actions is continuing, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Kevin Kelshaw.
