St Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman, Matthew Sara, reported to Historic City News that at about 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to a home in the 5000 block of Big Oak Road South; in a neighborhood west of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St Augustine.
A large tree fell and crashed onto the residence, rendering the home uninhabitable.
“There were no injuries reported,” Sara told reporters. “Because it is no longer possible to inhabit the structure, the American Red Cross is enroute to assist the occupants who have been displaced.”
Florida Power and Light linemen were on the scene to disconnect power; no other residences were reported to be affected in the announcement received.
According to Sara, there were 4 adults and 1 child living in the home.
