Once again, The St Augustine Art Association brings another historian and acclaimed author, Dr. Wayne W. Wood, to present a free lecture on the life and work of the late Julian Courtenay Hunt; to be held on Thursday, February 20, at the St Augustine Art Association. Historic City News readers are invite to join and learn.
Known for his extraordinary artistry and love of flying (and the ladies), Hunt produced scores of paintings during his 70-year career. The lecture will examine the current Hunt retrospective on display at the Art Association, which includes vivid landscapes, maritime themes, still lives and a vast array of portraits, many of local and prominent people.
The exhibit was curated by Wood, who recently published a book about the artist to coincide with the exhibition and the Association’s 90th Anniversary. The talk begins at 7 p.m. at 22 Marine Street.
