Judge Raul Zambrano will likely pass sentence on Quentin Truehill after a hearing scheduled for March 27th, when attorneys can present additional evidence; however, earlier today, the jury’s recommendation is that Truehill should die for his role in Vincent Binder’s death.
Zambrano says that he will take into consideration and give “great weight” to the jury’s advisory recommendation.
The jury’s unanimous recommendation for the death penalty came after nearly three hours of deliberation and after several days of testimony in the penalty phase of the capital murder trial.
“We’re just pleased that justice was done,” Prosecutor Mark Johnson said after the proceeding.
Historic City News editor, Michael Gold, was at the scene where the body was discovered in a grassy field behind the Wingate by Wyndham hotel at SR-16 and I-95.
