At about 7:05 a.m. this morning, Florida Highway Patrol and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene of a three-vehicle collision with roadblock and injuries; located on SR-13 at Perry’s Park Road in northwest St Johns County.
A white Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 32-year-old Natalie Ann Woods-Hunter of St. Augustine, was traveling northbound on SR-13 behind a white 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 46-year-old Scott Verville also of St Augustine.
A white 2012 Ford F-450, operated by 54-year-old Justin Becker of Middleburg was traveling southbound on SR-13.
Woods-Hunter looked down, for a moment, taking her eyes off the roadway, and failed to see the Chevrolet Suburban ahead.
The front of the Silverado struck the rear of the Suburban; pushing the Suburban into the path of the oncoming F-450 in the southbound lane.
When the front left of the Suburban struck the left side of Becker’s truck, the F-450 overturned onto its right side. Verville was removed from the Suburban and airlifted to UF Health Trauma Center in Jacksonville.
The driver of the Silverado, and her passenger, Woods-Hunter’s 9-year-old daughter, were ground transported to Julington Creek Memorial hospital.
The driver of the F450 sustained only minor injuries and was treated on scene and released.
Natalie Ann Woods-Hunter was charged with careless driving.
