Letter: Why are school districts distributing pornography?

Dear Editor,
I am shocked to learn that the 2015 summer reading list for 6th graders attending public schools in Collier, Lee, and Marion County recommends books like Beautiful Bastard that contains dialog like, “You wouldn’t be such a tease if you were being properly f*****”.



This week, Historic City News welcomes eighteen new firefighters and certified Emergency Medical Technicians to the ranks of the St Johns County Fire Rescue.
Public Information Officer Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News that on Thursday, firefighters trained in large animal rescue techniques successfully freed a horse that had become stuck in a muddy ditch next to a set of Florida East Coast Railway tracks.

The Florida Department of Transportation reported to Historic City News that they are hosting an Access Management Public Hearing on February 18th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to discuss proposed median modifications at the intersection of US-1 and Ocean Boulevard.
Michael Shirley, director of the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve, informed local Historic City News reporters that five BlueTubes have been installed along their beach in an effort to help keep the beach clean and keep plastic out of the ocean.
