Citizen has no general right to speak at public meetings

On Friday, the Council on Aging held their annual Memorial Day Celebration at River House on Marine Street. The event was well attended by a cadre of veterans from several branches of service.

Should you take the time to look in the downtown area, as so many have, since the 1868 establishment of Memorial Day, you will find memorials to the dead. See the Seminole War dead under the pyramids at the small National Cemetery on Marine Street. Many individual graves are there from several wars.

Just in the last week, Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson and Jack Johnson have all performed to sold-out crowds in the nation’s oldest city.
