Troy Ohio, Guthrie Oklahoma and other small towns visited by Mumford and Sons on their Gentlemen of the Road tour likely have less tourism than St. Augustine, but city officials here hope this successful stop can grow the already sizeable 6-7 million annual visitor count.

Profile: St Johns County Administrator
St Johns County has made a very substantial investment in its County Administrator, 63-year-old Michael Wanchick, who relocated with his family to St Johns County for the job in 2007. With no advance notice to the public or media, Commission Chairman John “Jay” Morris added an agenda item during the Tuesday September 17th meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to review the County Administrator’s performance and award him with a $21,000 pay raise.

Commission holds unannounced evaluation of administrator
Before any business was conducted by the St Johns County Board of Commissioners this morning, aside from the opening ceremonial proclamations, something new happened — in furtherance of the goal to achieve government in the sunshine, public comments were heard first on the agenda; before any elected official or appointed government official was heard to speak.

Help identify armed convenience store robber
Robbery detectives at the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office have informed local Historic City News reporters that they are searching for a man who is believed to be white, approximately 5’11″ to 6’2″ tall, light brown hair, possibly in his late teens to mid-twenties, with a lean build. They say the man burglarized one convenience store and robbed another in the Ponte Vedra Beach area this weekend.
