As Fire Prevention Month comes to a close and we change our clocks from Daylight Savings Time, St. Johns County Fire Rescue wants to remind Historic City News readers to make another change that could save lives – changing the batteries in their smoke alarms.

Dana Ste. Claire, director of the city’s Heritage Department and of the 450th Commemoration told Historic City News that he has a response to suggestions of dethroning our economic engine.

As Historic City News readers “fall behind” Sunday, November 1st, and change their clocks from Daylight Savings Time to Eastern Standard Time, we want to remind you that landscape irrigation will now be limited to only one day each week.

Historic City News would like to recognize Eagle Scout Andrew Domingoes, a 16-year-old member of Troop 274 in St. Augustine, for crafting a simple but potentially lifesaving plan to protect visitors to St. Johns County beaches.

Historic City News reported that at the June 2nd meeting of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, a motion was approved to adopt a Resolution authorizing the County Attorney to execute a Class Representative Employment Contract with four Florida law firms.
