Historic City News has learned that a special ceremony is scheduled to be held Saturday, November 14th which promises to be “the first step” in an effort to create a renaissance of local interest in area history including Florida Memorial College; now known as Florida Memorial University.

Stephanie Vidan Styles extended an invitation to Historic City News readers to join the Children’s Museum of St. Johns for “Wine & Dine Wednesday” at The Tasting Room on October 28th.

Historic City News learned Friday that Governor Charlie Crist has re-launched the Gubernatorial Fellows Web site and has invited college and university students to apply for the 2010-11 Gubernatorial Fellows program.

According to a report received by Historic City News, St. Augustine city commissioners will retire a relatively light meeting agenda Monday night; however, they will face a heavier workshop agenda the following morning.

Historic City News has compiled the following list of county workers in St. Johns County who earn an annual salary of $60,000 or more, plus benefits; nearly double the $34,572 average annual wage of workers in all industries reported on the St. Johns County website.
