Historic City News reports the new local business tax paid each week; this is the tax formerly known as an occupational license. This week, a new trend in retail sales appears to be gaining footing in St. Johns County.
Historic City News learned that the UF College of Veterinary Medicine’s Large Animal Technical Rescue Team, the St Johns County Fire Rescue Special Hazards Operations Team and St. Johns County Animal Control performed joint large animal rescue training this past weekend.
“Law & Order’s” Chaz Mena, Spielberg “Blackbeard” film partner and Entrepreneur of the Year Pat Croce, and Colonial Williamsburg’s Thomas Jefferson are part of an all-star cast of performers and presenters who are scheduled to help launch the St. Augustine 450th Commemoration this fall.

Historic City News would find it difficult to imagine a more appealing location for ghostly fun this Halloween than in the Nation’s oldest city, St. Augustine, Florida.
Flagler College reported to Historic City News that on Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m., Flagler College’s Nu chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society, will host its inaugural induction ceremonies.
Historic City News was watching this morning as St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis W. Hollingsworth returned $5.77 million to the Board of County Commissioners; representing excess fees collected by his office.
