Fountain of Youth donates books to local public libraries
The Fraser family, owners of Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, reported to Historic City News that on Friday, October 2nd, a donation was made of over 20 copies of Dr. J. Michael Francis’ book “St. Augustine, A Story of Unbroken History and Enduring Spirit”, to the 7 branches of the St. Johns County public library.
City responds to “Official Business” parking questions
Last week, Historic City News followed up on reader reports that former mayor Joe Boles was avoiding parking tickets downtown by continuing to display a placard issued to him when he was in office indicating he was on “official business” of the City of St Augustine. That permit was cancelled ten months ago.

St Augustine Shrine Club reported to Historic City News that, under the sponsorship of The Conch House Marina Resort, more than 30 area restaurants will compete for top honors during the 31st Annual Great Chowder Debate from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015.
