450th Youth Ambassadors Take a JOURNEY

The St Augustine Visitor Center was the stop for the Youth Ambassadors in February 2014. We had been to the Visitor Center one other time when the Picasso exhibit was located there. But this time, we had the opportunity to see the exhibit called, “Journey: 450 Years of the African-American Experience.”

Robin Kass Burchfield, Director of Development at St Augustine Youth Services, told Historic City News editor, Michael Gold, last week that it is hard to overstate the benefits to children when they garden; but, for some, the benefits may be profound — especially children who have experienced emotional and physical abuse, requiring separation from family and long term institutional care.
