Spring 2013 Holocaust remembrance events
Leslie Kirkwood, Chairperson of “Remembering for the Future” Community Holocaust Initiative, shared with Historic City News the following Holocaust remembrance events taking place around Jacksonville during spring 2013.





Historic City News was informed that this year St Johns County Sheriff David Shoar recognized Deputy Vinnie Russo with one of the agency’s highest honors during the 29th Annual Awards Banquet Friday evening at the World Golf Village Convention Center.
Ranger Jesse Olbrich reported to local Historic City News reporters that the Historic Weapons Program demonstrations are scheduled regularly at both Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and Fort Matanzas National Monument — weather and personnel permitting.
Historic City News was notified that topics such as bullying, cyber-bullying, peer pressure, raising morally responsible children, cliques and relationship aggression will be covered during the second-of-three sessions that are part of the “Community Empowerment Series”.
