Tropical Storm Hermine is located about 220 miles west of Tampa and the St Johns County Emergency Management Office has informed local Historic City News reporters that the storm is moving north-northeast at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. A slight increase in forward speed is expected during the next day or so.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has informed local Historic City News reporters that they have cancelled the floodplain map Open House scheduled for 4:00 p.m. this evening at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
Historic City News has been advised by Ludmilla Lelis, Court Communications Officer for the 7th Judicial Circuit of Florida, that all courthouses in the 7th Circuit will close at noon today.
