Arrests continue in under-age drinking cases

Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw told local St. Johns County news reporters at Historic City News that on Saturday, April 3rd, and Monday April 5th the Youth Services Unit of the Sheriff’s Office conducted two alcohol compliance details.

Dorothy Smith, former St. Augustine resident, died in Wellington, Fla., on Monday, April 5, 2010. She resided with her daughter, Jill Gause Davis.

Arlen G. Knight

Arlen G. Knight, 82, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Flagler Hospital after a long illness.

Nancy L. Hagar

Nancy L. Hagar, 77, St. Augustine, died April 5, 2010, at Flagler Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine.

Guy Gifford Jr.

Guy Gifford Jr., 86, died April 4, 2010, at his home.

Lewis Avery Byrd

Lewis Avery Byrd, 64, a native of Bradenton, Fla., died April 2, 2010, at his home in St. Augustine, Fla., of natural causes.

Movers either register or get charged criminally

Liz Compton reported to Historic City News reporters that the Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services announced today that legal action has been taken against numerous unregistered moving companies following a statewide sweep that concluded late Thursday night.

Sheriff Shoar to brief advisory council

St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar advised local reporters with Historic City News that he will be briefing members of the Sheriff’s Advisory Council at a reception for all district councils this Thursday evening.
