Katie Latona, 21, died tragically on April 5, 2010, in St. Augustine.

Charles C. Huff

Charles C. Huff, 90, of Elkton, Fla., died April 4, 2010, at Moultrie Creek Nursing Home. He was born in Milledgeville, Ga., and had resided here most of his life.

Three in custody following afternoon robbery

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department informed local news reporters at Historic City News that two men and one juvenile were taken into custody yesterday after police say they robbed and beat a man on Anastasia Island.

Marisella Veiga, who teaches English at Flagler College, recently had her short story, “Fresh Fruit,” selected for publication in the prestigious anthology, “Sudden Fiction Latino: Short-Short Stories from the United States and Latin America.”

Flagler College graduate Haley Walker won a prestigious award for a story that had her climbing into local dumpsters in search of edible food, according to an announcement received by Historic City News reporters today.
