Fireworks over the Matanzas is Monday
Due to wildfires throughout northeast Florida, many city and county governments have banned both personal and professional fireworks this year, however, Historic City News is happy to announce that St. Augustine’s fireworks display will go forward Monday night.






Historic City News learned today that Kristin Nelson has been named the new director of Career Services at Flagler College.
Alvin Brown announced to Historic City News and the media yesterday that a pair of Democratic legislators from Northeast Florida will serve in his administration when he takes office as Jacksonville’s first black mayor today.
Just after 1:00 a.m. this morning, Historic City News learned that 31 year-old Jose Guillermo Martinez was taken into custody by deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office — and he remains in the County Detention Facility in lieu of $150,000 bond.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reported to Historic City News that they have added a new reporting system similar to the one adopted by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office recently; which allows Flagler County residents the same ease of filing petit crime complaints online.
