Civic Association President Robert Samuels has invited all Historic City News readers to enjoy the lighting of the St Augustine Beach Christmas tree this Saturday, December 1st at the St Johns County Pier Park.
Local craft vendors will have many unique items available to help you get a jump on holiday shopping. Santa will be available to visit with kids of all ages as clowns twist balloons and paint faces nearby.
“Our celebrity emcee is Kris Phillips; owner of WFOY and host of St Augustine’s Morning News,” said Samuels. “We have a great entertainment line-up that includes the March Creek Chorale, St Augustine Children’s Chorus, Southern Belles from The Allegro and more.”
The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and there will be food vendors, entertainment and more.
Mayor Gary Snodgrass will be on hand to throw the switch to light dozens of palm trees and the Beach Christmas tree located in the Pier Park. Lighting ceremonies take place at dark.
There is no admission charge and, as always, families and friends of the beach are invited to join in the fun. There will be food and refreshments available throughout the event.
“We are so pleased to bring families to the Pier Park to celebrate our holiday season,” Samuels said. “Our event coordinator, Michelle Santorelli, does a marvelous job working with our vendors and entertainers.”
The event is hosted annually by the Civic Association in cooperation with St Johns County Parks, the Visitors and Convention Bureau and the City of St Augustine Beach.
