Arrest in disappearance of Rebecca Ware

Posted on 08/28/201208/29/2012 By Historic City News 1 Comment on Arrest in disappearance of Rebecca Ware

After a Grand Jury indictment was obtained yesterday, Historic City News has learned that the former boyfriend of Rebecca Ann Ware has been arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder; in the case of the St Johns County woman who has not been seen or heard from since October 29, 2010.

Earlier today, 42-year-old Timothy Lee Johnson, who has been known to go by “Tip Johnson” or “Slick Rick”, and at one time lived on West Madison Street in Palatka, was taken into custody in Putnam County.

Johnson, who has a lengthy criminal record, was a boyfriend of Ware, and, at one time, the two resided together.

Ware’s remains have never been recovered, however information and evidence revealed foul play in the case and investigators believed that Johnson was responsible for Ware’s
death.

Anyone with information concerning this crime is asked to contact the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office detective Eugene Tolbert at (904) 209-3985. You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
