Thanks to a generous gift from St Augustine resident Gina Burrell, today the City of St Augustine Streets and Grounds Division is able to plant three palms and two Crape Myrtles in the vicinity of San Marco Avenue and Ballard Street.
Burrell is a member of the St Augustine Street Tree Advisory Committee that selected the site for the new trees.
During the approximately three month transplant stabilization period, city spokesman Paul Williamson reported that students enrolled in the ABLE School will participate in the project by watering the trees.
