The female store clerk at Sharps Liquor on Moody Boulevard in Palm Coast reported to police that, around 5:19 p.m. last night, two black men, both in their early 30s, drew a pistol on her and demanded money from the cash register — along with a $100 bottle of Hennessy.
Flagler County Sheriff Don Fleming informed Historic City News reporters that the clerk did not recognize the men who entered her store and attempted to make a purchase. When the clerk rang up the sale, she asked for identification of the man who paid.
According to the incident report, the man told the clerk he had the ID in his car; then, both men exited the store.
Only one of the men came back inside the store to complete the purchase. This time, when the clerk asked for identification, the man told her that he looked — but did not have it.
Refusing to complete the transaction, the clerk opened the cash drawer to refund his money.
When the register opened, the man brandished a small silver hand gun and demanded money. The clerk complied. Before leaving the store, the robber demanded that the clerk give him a $100 bottle of Hennessy liquor.
The two men were seen exiting the parking lot heading northwest toward State Road 100 in a silver Chrysler passenger vehicle with a black convertible top.
Fleming asked for anyone with information on the incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 313-4911.
