Family Medical Center opening Friday

Local reporters received word that there will be an open house to celebrate the new Hastings Family Medical Center and the renovated Health and Human Services Hastings Resource Center this Friday afternoon; and Historic City News readers are invited to attend.

The St Johns County Health and Human Services Hastings Resource Center and the Hastings Family Medical Center are holding the open house from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28 at the Family Medical Center located at the Shell Regan Annex at 201 West Lattin Street in Hastings.

Representatives from the Health and Human Services Hastings Resource Center will discuss a number of available services including:

• Emergency Financial Assistance
• Job Coaching
• Medicaid
• Limited Prescription
• Specialty Care Assistance

The Hastings Resource Center will also offer educational seminars to the public about living healthy lifestyles, diabetes prevention, and computer and budgeting skills.

Hastings Family Medical Center staff will provide an overview of their services including:

• Primary Care With A Sliding Fee Scale
• Minor Surgical Services
• Pre-And-Post Natal Services
• Pharmaceutical Assistance

• Regular Hours of Operation:
• Mon & Wed: 8am – 5pm
• Tues & Thurs 8am – 7pm
• Fri 8am – 12noon

Rural Health Care, Inc. operating as Family Medical and Dental Centers is a private, non-profit, federally qualified health center founded in 1977. They operate in areas designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas or Medically Underserved Areas or Populations. Physicians are Board Certified or eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.

The open house celebration will feature tours of both facilities.

The event will provide the public with the opportunity to meet Health and Human Services staff, Hastings Family Medical Center staff, and Family Medical and Dental Centers board members.
