Jeremy Robshaw reported to Historic City News that an early morning brush fire in the 100 block of Greenbriar Estates Drive in St Augustine endangered several homes, a stable, and livestock at approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning.
St Johns County Fire Rescue and crews from the Florida Forest Service responded to the fast-moving brush fire that consumed an area originally estimated to be 8-10 acres.
Florida Forest Service personnel arrived on scene with two tractors. They established a fire line around the flames; bringing the situation under control, according to Robshaw.
Firefighters began an aggressive attack on the fire once they arrived — focusing on structural and livestock protection.
No structures were damaged during this incident, Robshaw reported.
The Florida Forest Service is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
