St Johns County Tax Collector Dennis W Hollingsworth, CFC, reported to Historic City News that members of his staff, including Beth McDonough, Lois Lewis, Tommy Edwards, Bonnie Rackliff and Brenda Davis, received top honors at the Florida Tax Collectors Conference in Orlando recently.
The Florida Tax Collectors Fall Conference is an annual event, open to tax collectors and members of their staff. The event was held in Orlando from September 17-20.
“It is with great pride that I accept these awards on behalf of a top-notch staff,” Hollingsworth told reporters. “Your Tax Collector staff works hard to always go above and beyond, providing outstanding customer service with innovation, integrity and expertise.”
In response to a call for donations, the St Johns County Tax Collector’s office also raised $104 for the Florida Association of Food Banks which is based in Orlando.
“I am pleased to have my peers from throughout the state recognize the extra mile that we go every day in service to St Johns County.”
The following awards were presented to the St. Johns County Tax Collector office:
• 2012 Excellence Award for Financial Operations, presented by Florida Tax Collectors, Inc. • Donor Designation Champion, presented by Donate Life Florida, Top Performing County Statewide with a Donor Designation Rate of 63.16% • Best in Sales, Share the Road Specialty License Plate, #1 in Sales – our office has led the state in sales for this bicycle-friendly license plate for several years • Best in Sales, Visit Our Lights Specialty License Plate, #1 in Sales – this is the lighthouse plate that features the St Augustine Lighthouse in the design
