St Augustine Police Commander Steve Fricke reported to Historic City News that the Kiwanis Club of Historic St Augustine recently honored its “Student of the Month” during the October 24th meeting.
Schaffer Weeks is a 12th grade student at St Augustine High School and is the son of Len and Kristy Weeks. He is the senior class president as well as the Historian of the Key Club.
Weeks has accumulated over 261 hours of community service during his time in high school.
He is a three time participant in the Sister City Student Exchange program to Aviles, Spain, including most recently traveling to Spain this summer with other St Augustine students.
He is also an avid and accomplished soccer player – he has played soccer for St Augustine High School for three years, and he also plays for Ancient City Soccer Club.
Kiwanis International are Service Clubs with over 13,000 club locations in 80 countries. The organization reports having nearly 250,000 members.
