Because of the impending weather associated with Tropical Storm Andrea, the City of St Augustine reported to Historic City News that tonight’s Concert in the Plaza performance, which was to include a screening of a 1964 episode of “Route 66” shot in town, has been postponed.
The screening has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Virginia Room of the Ringhaver Center on the campus of Flagler College. The musical performance by Lis and Lon Williamson with Rick Kuncicky will be rescheduled if possible, but no date has been determined.
“By all indications, Andrea will be with us throughout the day, and we certainly do not want to invite the public out for an activity when we are under a tropical storm watch,” said Paul Williamson, Public Affairs Director for the city. “This particular edition of Concerts in the Plaza to include the ‘Route 66’ screening, has generated a lot of interest in the community, and we’re pleased the college could reschedule the program so those wishing to attend can make alternate plans.”
