Search of St Augustine South home ends in arrest

Community Affairs Corporal Catherine Payne reported to Historic City News that a lengthy drug investigation of a residence at 364 Shamrock Road in St Augustine, has resulted in the arrest of one local man and confiscation of items commonly associated with methamphetamine use.

This morning, a search warrant was served at the home of 58-year-old Verl Joseph Solano by the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit.

Once inside the residence, detectives located methamphetamine.

Solano was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug dwelling.

He is scheduled for first appearance Friday morning.
