Historic City News readers are cautioned that James Lee Lyons, a registered sexual predator pursuant to Section 775.21 F.S., is residing at 7548 US-1 South in Saint Augustine. He is no longer under any form of confinement, supervision or any other court imposed sanction, although he continues to be required to register in accordance with Florida law.
Lyons, who is 5’07” and weighs 160 lbs., is a white male with black hair and blue eyes. He is 52-years-old, born 9/15/1960, and was released from prison on June 14, 2011. Lyons served a 13-year sentence for attempted sexual battery of a child in St Johns County in January 1998, and committing a sexual act with a child while in a familial role.
On July 26, 2013, Lyons was released after posting two surety bonds totaling $11,000 on charges of sexual activity involving an animal and felony cruelty to animals. Then, on August 1st, he was released, again, after posting three additional surety bonds totaling $61,000 for the latest charges of sexual activity involving an animal and felony cruelty to animals, plus the additional charge of failure to properly register.

A felony pretrial hearing was set for Lyons on all five open counts to be held on September 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 316 before Judge J. Michael Traynor.
