Single-car crash sends two to trauma center

Charges are pending as Florida Highway Patrol investigators try to determine what caused a single car collision off I-95 near SR-207 just before 5:00 a.m. this morning that sent both occupants to the trauma center at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.

A 1994 Honda Acura driven by 24-year-old Timothy Orie Fulton, was traveling south on I-95. Troopers say that when Fulton reached the SR-207 entrance ramp, he left the roadway and drove onto the outside shoulder.

Fulton was unable to maintain control of the car and traveled off the roadway — striking a tree.

Fulton’s condition was reported as “serious”, however, his passenger, 23-year-old Cassie Marie Biagi Turner, was reported as “critical”. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not indicated as a contributing factor.

Both driver and passenger reside in Ormond Beach.
