Two thefts were reported to Historic City News on Friday by St Augustine Police spokesman Mark Samson. Both thefts occurred Thursday night, according to the incident reports received.
Officer Michal Ochkie responded to First Coast Honda, located on North Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St Augustine, and spoke with the manager, Robert Searles.
Searles told Ochkie that sometime during the night, an unknown person entered the business premises and removed a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle without permission. The vehicle was discovered missing on Friday morning. It was valued at about $1,000.
While on the property, someone also attempted to steal a second vehicle, but abandoned it in the dirt lane between the buildings. No suspect has been identified at this time.
In a second incident, police officer Cecilia Aiple responded to The Standard, a concert and event venue located at 200 Anastasia Boulevard, to investigate a car burglary that happened in the parking lot sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., early Friday morning.
The victim reported that someone broke a window, reached inside, and took several items out of his car. No value was reported by police. Officer Aiple photographed the scene and advised the victim to contact his bank and report his credit cards stolen.
