When the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at American Inn on SR-16 last night, the responding deputy found it odd that the victim of that disturbance, 28-year-old Kirby Donnell Miller Jr., did not want to press charges.
A computer check revealed that Miller is a designated Sexual Predator. He last registered as a transient in Duval County; however, the deputy learned that Miller had, in fact, been residing at the SR-16 motel since the middle of September.
“Florida Law requires sexual predators to register in the county where they reside and to change or renew their address information on a driver’s license or state issued identification card within 48-hours,” spokesman Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News local reporters.
It was determined that Miller had done neither, even though he has been employed as a housekeeper at the Hilton Bayfront.
Miller was arrested at 9:45 p.m. and booked into the St Johns County Detention Facility at the Neil J Perry Criminal Justice Complex; where he was held in lieu of $2,000 bond.
