St. Johns County public information spokesman, Rob Weber, informed Historic City News that they are continuing their free Energy Efficiency workshops in April; designed to teach commercial contractors and homeowners how to build more efficiently and save money.
St. Johns County is one of only 15 counties and municipalities in the entire state that were awarded this competitive grant. Funding is provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 through the Department of Energy.
The weekly workshops are from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday’s in the wind mitigation building at the University of Florida IFAS Extension, located at 3111 Agricultural Center Drive in St. Augustine.

Energy Efficiency and Ground-Source Heat Pumps – April 14th
Energy Efficiency with Water Conservation – April 21st
Energy Efficient Retrofitting and Remodeling Ideas – April 28th
The free Energy Efficiency Education Series is part of a grant from the Florida Energy & Climate Commission.
