Historic City News was notified that on Saturday, December 5th, the beachfront along the City of St. Augustine Beach will light up the holiday season with a spectacular Surf Illumination.
Combined with the seasonal lights along beautiful A1A Beach Boulevard, Surf Illumination will provide a brightly lit and festive atmosphere in the town that just celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
From 4-6 p.m., Surf Illumination will combine Santa, musical performers and traditional carolers to create a winter wonderland at St. Augustine Beach Pier Park.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., the event will include the ceremonial lighting of the seasonal tree by Mayor Frank Charles.
Surf Illumination is supported in part by a grant from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.
Food and beverages will be provided by local restaurants and many local arts and crafts vendors will offer convenient shopping for the holiday season. Admission is free. For more information, call the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association at 904.347.8007.
