St. Augustine Genealogical Society reminds Historic City News readers that their membership dues for the New Year are due and payable this Friday, January 1st.
Annual dues are $20 for a single membership and $25 for two members in the same household.
St. Augustine Genealogical Society membership is open to all who are interested in genealogy and who subscribe to the Society’s policies. Annual dues entitle the member to one copy per household of The Ancient City Genealogist which is published in February, May, August and November as well as the Genealogical Society newsletter.
Society President, Edie Mixon, reported that the organization will be hosting genealogy classes, scheduled for:
January 8th – 10:00AM — 12:00PM
January 22nd – 10:00AM — 12:00PM
If you are not already a member, Mixon said, “Your membership will help our Society build a genealogical collection in the St. Johns County Public Library.”
Membership benefits include: Free query listings in The Ancient City Genealogist which is distributed to libraries and genealogy groups nationwide, increased knowledge and information by attending meetings and workshops, the listing of 12 surnames you are researching in our membership directory as well as the camaraderie, experience and friendship of other genealogists.
“Donations are always appreciated and they are tax-deductible,” Mixon added.
The Society holds regular monthly meetings at the Family History Library at the LDS Church, 500 Deltona Drive in St Augustine on the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. (Workshops or field trips may be substituted.)
The next SAGS meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. For more information, visit the Saint Augustine Genealogical Society website
