Edward R. Wuellner, AAE, Executive Director of the St. Augustine and St. Johns County Airport Authority, notified Historic City News that the airport is hosting a family day for the St. Augustine High School Aerospace Academy this Saturday the 31st, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to give rides and also have some aircraft on static display.
Staging for the event will be at the Commercial Airline Terminal (B-2) beginning about 11:00 a.m. There wll be lots of Sonny’s Bar-B-Q available for those who help out and we can even pick up a bit of AvGas for those of you who can fly some of these High School students associated with the Aerospace Academy.
The rides are expected to begin about 12:45 p.m. and be concluded by 2:00 p.m. There will be some EAA members in attendance to assist with static displays and the rides. There could be as many as 100 students that we would like to get in the air this Saturday! Pretty Cool!
Any help you can volunteer would be appreciated.
If you can help in any way, please coordinate with Reba Ludlow, 904-612-7236.
