With assistance from the US Marshal Service, Historic City News has learned of the arrest of 29 year-old Cameron Tarvars Taylor, who resides at 1148 W King Street in St Augustine, on a warrant issued after he was identified by two women who allege he robbed them at gunpoint Monday night.
Kevin Kelshaw told reporters that a 37 year-old Volusia County woman reported that she and another passenger were driving Taylor to Josiah Street Monday evening shortly after 6:00 p.m.
The victim and witness told robbery investigators that when Taylor got out of the vehicle, in the area of North Volusia and Josiah Streets, he brandished a handgun at them and demanded that the victim turn over a recently obtained narcotic prescription.
The woman said that she was in fear for her life. She said that she gave Taylor the prescription, and then he fled. Neither woman was physically injured.
The victim and passenger drove to a Spring Street residence and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Each was able to identify Taylor from a photo lineup.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant this week and located Taylor inside a residence in the 800 block of Josiah Street. He was taken into custody without incident. He remains in the St Johns County Detention Facility in lieu of $100,000 bond.
