St Augustine Police spokesman Mark Samson is asking Historic City News readers to help identify and locate a man who has been captured on video surveillance making fraudulent purchases using a debit card that was lost by a local resident.
During a five-day window, between May 6 and May 11, the culprit made several fraudulent charges to the cardholders account, until the owner of the card realized that he had lost the card and reported it to his local bank.
According to the report, Samson says the victim took his card out to purchase parking at one of the downtown meters, then believes he inadvertently left the card in the reader.
