Target, a major retailer of dry goods and soft lines, sometimes referred to as an “upscale Walmart”, has included St Augustine in its group of store locations that have been upgraded and remodeled to expand their fresh food selection.
The local store, located at 1440 US-1 South in Saint Augustine, was recently completed; joining two more northeast Florida stores in Nassau and Clay County that announced their remodeling this week.
Target recovered about 10,000 square feet of space inside the existing stores and converted the purpose from general merchandise and photographic services into dedicated fresh food choices.
Some fresh food choices include:
-fresh produce
-fresh packaged meat
-pre-packaged baked goods
-dry and frozen grocery items
Out of 221 stores in total, seven stores in Northeast Florida have expanded their grocery layouts this year.
