Letter: Wendland gave Chamber three action-packed years
Victor Raymos, Chairman
St Johns County Chamber of Commerce
Dear Editor:
Kirk Wendland has resigned his position as President of the St Johns County Chamber of Commerce to take a position with Stellar. Kirk has left the Chamber in excellent shape.
In his short, but action packed, three years as the President, he has reorganized, revitalized, improved member value and improved the financial results for the organization and its members.
Under his leadership, the Chamber membership has increased (885 members to over 1100 members) and merged the Ponte Vedra and St Johns County Chambers back into one Chamber representing all of St Johns County.
I know that I speak for all of the Board of Directors and the staff in expressing confidence that during the transition period and beyond, the Chamber will continue to serve the business community by advocating on behalf of business and actively recruiting, growing and relocating businesses to St Johns County.
The Chamber Board has formed a search committee to find his replacement. Kirk has agreed to help in this transition and provide his guidance, knowledge and experience to make the process more successful. His leadership, commitment and caring will make the transition easier for the next President.
We are deeply sorry to see him leave, but we know that it is the next logical step in his professional career. We know he will be a great asset in his new position.
