Beauty for the 450th
Rhey Palmer, president of the St. Augustine Uptown Neighborhood Association, informed Historic City News that he is chairing a 450th Beautification Project Steering Committee to tackle landscaping in the city’s historic district, entry corridors, and neighborhoods.



A large number of arrests and crimes involving sexual offenders and predators have been reported to Historic City News in recent weeks; enough to warrant looking a little deeper into the sex offenders residing in St. Johns County.
Lindsay Haga, Development Review Director, reported to Historic City News that Tuesday night will conclude the second Board of County Commissioners hearing and the final of three public hearings to consider modifications to Article II Zoning Districts and Special Uses of the St. Johns County Land Development Code.

Frequent Historic City News contributor Geoffrey Dobson, of St. Augustine, has been installed, for a one-year term, as District Deputy to the Elks National President for the lodges in the Northeast District of the Florida State Elks Association.
Historic City News will be watching tomorrow when Executive Director Cathy Brown appears as part of a consent agenda item before the St. Johns County Commission; awarding the Council on Aging proceeds from a Florida Department of Transportation Public Transit Block Grant amounting to $227,000.
