Historic City News has learned that St. Augustine’s Government House Museum of History and Archaeology will be open at no charge for guests Friday, September 4th.

Sgt. Chuck Mulligan reported to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is joining with thousands of other law enforcement agencies across the nation through the Labor Day holiday to take part in the “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.” crackdown on impaired driving.

City of St. Augustine Offices Closed for Labor Day Holiday
Historic City News has been notified that the offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Cathy DuPont, Public Information Coordinator, reported to Historic City News that an September 11, the City of St. Augustine will continue what has become an annual tradition–the remembrance of those who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Craig Mitchell. Senior Vice President of Finance at Morris Communications Company, LLC, announced that it has obtained an extension until September 4, 2009 to make two semi-annual interest payments of $9.7 million on its senior subordinated notes originally due Feb. 1, 2009 and August 3, 2009.
Jeremy Robshaw SJCFR Public Information Officer reported to Historic City News that at approximately 3:40 a.m. this morning, St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 32 Seascape Circle.
