Barbara Golden, Communications Manager for the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra and the Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau, reminds Historic City News readers who reside in St Johns County that admission is free of charge to the Oldest House, the Lightner Museum, the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Oldest Wooden School House, City Walks History Mystery Murder Evening Tour and the Hotel Ponce de Leon Legacy Tours at Flagler College, with valid identification.


Calling the immediate emergency demolition of the Don Pedro Fornells House, previously located at 62 Spanish Street, a “most unfortunate and unexpected, accident”, former mayor Len Weeks resigned from the Historic Architectural Review Board in a letter addressed to City Manager John Regan.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection informed local Historic City News reporters that the City of St. Augustine Municipal Marina has been designated the second “Clean and Resilient Marina” in the state. According to the announcement this morning, the local facility is also the first municipal marina to earn the designation.
