St Johns County Fire Rescue informed local Historic City News reporters that they responded to a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Bahia Court in St Augustine Shores at approximately 11:40 a.m. Monday.

Barricaded woman subdued by dramatic police response

Police shot a distraught 51-year-old St Augustine woman with a bean bag round fired from a 12-guage shotgun last night. Today she is in jail in lieu of $3,000 on two misdemeanor charges filed by the St Augustine Police Department.

Shots fired before high-speed chase brought to an end

Kevin Kelshaw, Media Relations Officer for the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office, informed local Historic City News reporters that 45-year-old Daniel J. Ruddell who resides at 7 Sea Trail in Palm Coast, was taken into custody on Thanksgiving evening after leading police on a three-county, high speed chase.

Hispanic female first to reach rank of FL National Guard General

Historic City News celebrates appointment of the first Hispanic female to reach the rank of General in the Florida National Guard. Colonel Valeria Gonzalez-Kerr was installed Wednesday, November 25th, at St. Francis Barracks, located at 82 Marine Street in St. Augustine.
