Arrangements for Carrie Johnson homegoing and funeral
A homegoing celebration honoring the life of Carrie Johnson will be held with a viewing, wake, and open-mic memories on Friday December 7, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St Paul AME Church, 85 ML King Avenue in St Augustine.

Four vehicle pileup leaves one driver dead
The Florida Highway Patrol reported to Historic City News in St Augustine the investigation of a multi-vehicle traffic homicide that occurred on I-95 just north of CR-210 at about 2:50 a.m. this morning.
Former President George H.W. Bush Dies At 94
George Herbert Walker Bush died Friday, November 30th. He was born June 12, 1924, in Milton, Massachusetts, and lived to be 94-years-old. He grew up with the New England elite, a world of prep schools, mansions and servants seemingly untouched by the Great Depression. His father, Prescott Bush, the son of an Ohio steel magnate, made his fortune as an investment banker and later served 10-years as a senator from Connecticut.
Traffic notes for Christmas Parade and Colonial Night Watch
The City of St Augustine reported the following traffic notes to Historic City News this morning. Tomorrow, Saturday, December 1, two events will necessitate the closing of some streets and implementation of detours in order to accommodate the traffic of an expected busy day in downtown St. Augustine.

FDOT road repairs and maintenance report
Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Allen Nelson, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
James Colley sentenced to death
At the conclusion of an emotional sentencing hearing this morning, Historic City News watched as 38-year-old James Terry Colley Jr., previously convicted in the murder of his wife and friend in her north St. Johns County home, was sentenced to death today by Circuit Court Judge Howard Maltz.
Chamber of Commerce announces three promotions
St Johns County Chamber of Commerce announced three promotions to Historic City News today. Bob Porter has been promoted to Vice President of Public Policy. He will continue increasing the Chamber’s position as an influencer in the business community.
