Strickland gets help from funding panel
St Johns County Clerk of Court Cheryl Strickland received good news yesterday after a legislative panel approved an additional $29.5 million in funding for Florida’s Clerks of Court, undoing a budget cut that had already caused layoffs and delays at offices across the state.

Historic City News local entertainment reporters scour the web’s event calendars in search of the best of free and minimal cost cultural entertainment in St Augustine and St Johns County each week.
The St Johns County School District has informed local Historic City News reporters that they will offer parents a new tool to monitor their child’s academic progress this year; the Home Access Center is a web-based application that is part of the Student Information system, eSchoolPlus.
A graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design has asked Historic City News to reach out to readers who are participants in St Augustine and St Johns County living history activities in an effort to collect responses to a questionnaire to become part of her thesis.
President Brad Davis reported to Historic City News that the St Augustine and Ketterlinus High School Alumni Association has announced the individuals to be inducted at the Third annual Hall of Fame dinner being held on October 11, 2012.
In September, Historic City News readers will have their first opportunity to comment during public hearings, however, an informal workshop was held this morning in order for commissioners to review the proposed 2012-2013 budget for the City of St Augustine.
