Historic City News feels that reader interaction enhances the value of our reporting; we were founded on the principle of citizen reporters and for the next few weeks, we are trying a new, integrated approach to determine if there is a better way use our popular facebook page as a host for reader’s comments.





Responding to reports of at least eight vehicles being vandalized Saturday evening, Flagler County Sheriff Don Fleming informed Historic City News that his department has stepped-up aggressive patrol in two north Palm Coast neighborhoods to find the culprits.
Every-other year, the landscape of St Augustine and St Johns County is attacked by political signs and banners that do little more than add to eye pollution, distract drivers, and, not the least of which, violate state election laws and local ordinances.
As we sat discussing options for this race and who might best serve the community for the next four years, it was not without consideration of what the City of St Augustine has done over the last four years — and where we see the town we all love in the future.
Historic City News and The St Augustine Record have clearly different editorial philosophies — I think it keeps things interesting, they give as good as they get and I’ve never written about them with malice and I don’t think anyone over there takes what is said over here personally, however I am surprised by their endorsement in this race.
We consider the District 3 seat, elected countywide, to be an “open seat” since the current occupant is taking another personal leave of office to pursue his military ambitions.
