One survivor in Salt Run accident
Historic City News has been notified that one victim has survived in last night’s boating accident that occurred when two passengers were thrown from a motor boat in Salt Run; just north the Conch House Marina Resort in St Augustine.






It’s not unusual to see a prosecutor advance to the bench, but in the 7th Circuit race for State Attorney, former Volusia County judge Stasia Warren has stepped down from her position to challenge St Augustine prosecutor R. J. Larizza.
Redistricting brought change to St Johns County in the form of a newly redrawn seat in the United States House of Representatives; along with it, the departure of long-time Historic City News friend, Rep. John Mica.
Detectives are hoping that Historic City News readers in St Augustine and St Johns County can provide further information as to the whereabouts of a 22-year old female whose cell phone was discovered by a jogger along the roadside in St Augustine Beach.
Just as some political contests, like St Johns County Commission Seat 3, will be settled during the August 14 primary — some others, like County Commission Seat 1 and Seat 5, will not be settled until the General Election in November; The Record and League of Women Voters did not allow those candidates to be heard during their forum last night.
The St Johns County School District has announced to reporters at Historic City News its student policy for free and reduced price meals served under the School Breakfast Programs, National School Lunch and Child Care Food Program.
Director of Public Affairs for the City of St Augustine, Paul Williamson, informed Historic City News reporters that beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, there will be traffic interruptions Avenida Menendez between Bridge and St Francis Streets throughout most of the day.
B-Shift Public Information Officer Matthew Sara informed local Historic City News reporters that St Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a traffic fatality resulting from a vehicle-vs-motorcycle crash at approximately 9:50 p.m. last night.
